Trillium
Trillium comes across as a genus of approximately forty fifty species of perpetual herbaceous flower plantations. They are found in regions like Northern America as well as Asia duly because of the environmental temperature. They were considered to be a portion of the Trilliaceae breed, which is amongst the family of Liliales or the order of lily. Trillium has many names; the most common ones being: Tri-Flower, birthroot, wake robin, and of course trillium itself.
Types of Trilliums
In the eastern part of Northern America- of the most popular type of trillium flower found is known as the trillium grandiflorum which means A trillium with large flowers.
This kind of flower has big petals which are usually white and three in number These are on top of three expansive bracts which appear to look like leaves. This flower is often regarded as a wild flower and is glaringly noticed by people walking casually specifically because all the other types of wild flowers are less conspicuous.
In the western part of Northern America, an archetypal specie is known as Trillium ovatum which is also known as Trillium of the West. This also has flowers which are white in texture but they are distinctive from the eastern specie because they slowly acquire a purple tone in the midst of spring.

- If you pluck a trillium flower from the plan you may actually cause injury to it. The leaves (which are precisely known as three leafy bracts) beneath the white flower are actually the only source of producing food storage; therefore by plucking a trillium flower may harm it so much it could take years and years for it to recover. This is one of the reasons why in many states, such as Wisconsin, New York, Washington and Michigan it is illegal to pluck trillium flowers from public places without the states permission.
- A trillium flower is the insignia for and official flower for Ontario, a province in Canada.
- According to research it was found that a substance known as an astringent which is obtained from the trillium root is very useful to control bleeding as well as diarrhea.
Where can we grow trilliums?
Trilliums are, as stated above easily bred in the Northern and Eastern parts of the United States of America. However, a few species can also be bred in Asia.
Propagation tips
Trilliums are best when they are divided while growing approximately twenty one days after they finish the process of flowering. After this they root outwards and establish soon before the arrival of autumn.
Diseases and pests
Trilliums don't really cause any trouble for garden use.

Trilliums can breed well with various other plants. It is possible to grow a wide range of shade-loving plants along with trilliums.
