No matter where you live, one of the most important things on your mind when you're choosing flowers for your garden is choosing plants that are safe. And that doesn't necessarily mean that you're only searching for plants that aren't potentially toxic. It means you're also searching for plants that aren't incredibly enticing to the local wildlife, like deer or harmful insects. One of the best plants you can choose to maintain color and quality in your garden in the Milkweed (Asclepias Incarnata) 6 Yr 2-3' Bareroot, better known as the Pink Swamp Milkweed.
More so, because this is a wildflower, the plant is not only incredibly easy to maintain but it is also easy to grow. Even the newest gardener can easily and quickly add Milkweed (Asclepias Incarnata) 6 Yr 2-3' Bareroot to their garden. It is best to keep in mind, however, when adding this Milkweed to your garden, that it is mainly a swamp or marsh flower. While it won't require bog-like conditions, the plant does need full sunlight and while it happily tolerates boggy conditions, can live in simply exceptionally moist soil. The plant, unlike others in your garden, will also be able to tolerate what your other plants would consider to be overwatering.
Milkweed (Asclepias Incarnata) 6 Yr 2-3' Bareroot will grow as short as two feet and can grow to taller than three feet in height. This particular milkweed will most often be pink or rose in color, although it can sometimes grow into a light or deep mauve. The plant can tolerate nearly any type of soil, including sand, organic soils, garden soils, average soils and clay. It may be able to handle loam, but if this can be avoided, it should be.
While it is a hardy plant, it is not evergreen and will wilt away with the winter cold. However, the plant is a perennial, so if it receives proper care from initial propagation through the extent of its life you can always count on it to provide you beauty during its blooming months, which is hard to beat when it comes to having a perfect garden that's always in bloom.
