Ferns are a very beautiful plant that lived before man or animals ever did. There are many different types of ferns. Ferns can be found in moist shady areas such as under the forest canopies or shade. You will find them around ponds, lakes and streams because it is a vast moist area that they can thrive from.

People like ferns for many different reasons although sometimes they can be tough to keep alive. Ferns make great green foliage in a hanging basket or in a well shaded area such as around a coy pond or creek. The foliage on the ferns is large and leafy which give them a well full outlook.

There are many things to take into effect to keep a fern thriving such as suitable air, moisture, temperature, protection from the wind and sunlight. A combination of all of these will help your fern thrive for many years to come.

Ferns reproduce on their own which make them a good plant to invest in with the right amount of investment your ferns will reproduce and grow into strong healthy adults.

Ferns can be found in a variety of places ranging from garden centers, home stores, grocery stores, tree nurseries and out in the wild. Many varieties of ferns are almost always found in hanging baskets which then you can either leave this way or you can plant them in the right kind of soil that is damp and moist.

If you place a fern out in the open sunlight it will die very rapidly because it is getting too much sunlight and not enough shade. Ferns also need a lot of water to keep the roots moist but not too much or they will get waterlogged and die.
