Even the slower' species amongst the fast growing trees grow at pleasing rates and attain impressive mature heights. One such tree is the Purple ash which grows 3-5 feet per year; 15-20 feet in three years and a mature height of 50-70 feet. The Thuja Green giant, which makes an excellent hedge and windbreaker grows 3-5 feet the first year, 15-20 feet over a three year period and finishes at a mature height of 20-40 feet. Another excellent choice for a hedge, windbreaker or privacy screen is the Leyland Cypress which also grows 3-5 feet the first year and 15-20 feet, with a mature height of 60-70 feet.
